Supporting Individuals Reentering the Community Post Incarceration Training Series Session 1 of 3

Remote
Monday, April 28, 2025 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM   iCalendar Eastern Standard Time

This is the first session in a three-part series.

We would like as many health centers to be represented as possible, but the training is limited to 40 people. With that in mind, please register no more than 2 staff per health center. If more than 2 per health center register, we will reach out and ask you to decide who is a priority to attend.

There will be a waitlist, so please let us know if you are no longer able to attend.

Health impacts of incarceration:

  1. Describe the population demographics of justice involved populations and root causes which explain these statistics.
  2. List medical and behavioral health conditions of high prevalence and the impact of justice involvement on care access and quality.
  3. Explain how barriers to social determinant resources increase recidivism and lead to poor outcomes.
  4. Identify models for trauma informed care.
  5. Identify and assess realities and challenges of individuals reentering the community.
  6. Use available community resources available to special populations.
  7. Identify ones’ own assumptions and biases around working with a justice involved population.
