The learning objectives for this session are:
  • Determining how obesity care can best fit into your primary care setting.
  • Understanding the landscape of low-cost nutrition and lifestyle support in your local setting and learn how to connect and collaborate with community assets.
  • Describe the role of pharmacology in pediatric obesity and design prescribing patterns that fit your practice. 
 
Presenter: Dr. Jason Zhang is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on the gut microbiome’s influence on eating behavior, particularly in the context of pediatric obesity. He started the pediatric GI clinic and an obesity medicine program called Nurturing Wellness at Martha Eliot Health Center, with a focus on delivering state of the art care for vulnerable families. He is also the program director for the clinical scholars program at the Center for Microbiome Informatics and Therapeutics at MIT.
