Please join us for our Health Center Patients’ Immigration Rights Series—Part 1 on Friday, 1/17 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.  

 

The session will be co-moderated by Keplin Allwaters, Chief Legal & Compliance Officer and Ethan Kolodny, Associate General Counsel. Presenters Betsy M. Allen, Esq., of August Allen Law and Andrew P. Cohen, of Health Law Advocates will provide health center staff with immigrant rights information relevant to patients’ access to health care, food security, government benefits, key issues in immigration enforcement, and other critical areas of concern for health center staff providing services to immigrant patients.  The presenting attorneys will discuss patients’ constitutional rights regardless of immigration status, DHS & ICE immigration enforcement policy and sensitive areas where there is limited enforcement under current DHS policy, and immigrant patients’ access to government benefits to support access to health care and food security.  

 

This will be a 2-part series and a second session will be held on Friday, 2/14 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. where our partner agencies (list of agencies TBD) will provide information on the assistance they provide to immigrant patients to secure access to health care, food assistance, and other critical benefits.
