Join us on September 30th, 2025 for a deep dive, including a case study, into the Board of Registration in Medicine’s (BORIM’s) Patient Care Assessment (PCA) program requirements. Attorneys from Krokidas & Bluestein LLP will discuss various aspects of the PCA program requirement including, but not limited to, required bylaw provisions, the role of the board, the composition of the PCA committee, the interplay between HRSA and BORIM requirements, the investigative role of the PCA committee, and reporting obligations.
During this session, health center staff will
- Understand BORIM’s PCA governance requirements, including the purpose of the PCA, the role of the health center board, and the constitution of the PCA committee.
- Understand how BORIM’s PCA requirement interplays with HRSA’s quality requirements for health centers
- Learn about the investigative aspects of PCA and the peer review privilege under Massachusetts law
- Understand how federal Health Care Quality Improvement Act (HCQIA) requirements interplay with Massachusetts law
- Understand reporting obligations to the Board of Registration in Medicine (BORIM) and the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB)
