Dear Champions,

Join us for our upcoming program, Advancing Cardiovascular Health in Massachusetts: Public Health and American Heart Association Initiatives, on April 15th from 12:30–1:30 PM.

This session is designed for health center staff who are working on cardiovascular disease initiatives or simply interested in learning more about resources and cardiovascular programs. It’s a great opportunity to connect, learn, and strengthen collaboration around heart health and chronic disease prevention.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the best practices and American Heart Association CVH resources in the state
  2. Review American Heart Association’s current Initiatives and collaboration opportunities
  3. Understand the broad range of cardiovascular health and screening programming administered by Massachusetts Local Public Health Nurses
  4. Identify the role of cardiovascular health in the states new SAPHE 2.0 legislation which requires Local Boards of Health to support preventative chronic disease programming
  5. Identify how to contact, collaborate and partner with your Local Public Health Nurse

Caitlin Pettengill, DNP, RN, Chief Local Public Health Nurse, Office of Local and Regional Health, Massachusetts Department of Public Health
Adriene Worthington, M.Ed., RDN, VP of Community Impact at the American Heart Association, who will share best practices and current programming from their organization
