Health centers operate in an increasingly complex and rapidly shifting regulatory environment. Federal enforcement priorities, executive actions, and proposed rulemakings continue to reshape the compliance landscape in ways that directly affect how health centers deliver care, manage data, and structure their operations. This program is designed to equip health center risk management professionals, compliance officers, and clinical and administrative staff with a practical understanding of the key regulatory compliance considerations that should be on their radar. The program will address core compliance program best practices and examine specific risk areas that have emerged or intensified in light of recent federal regulatory and policy changes.
Attendees who participate in this webinar will be able to:
- Identify the core elements of an effective compliance program and apply additional best practices to right-size a compliance program for a community health center.
- Recognize key HIPAA and data privacy developments, including emerging state data privacy legislation, and practical risk mitigation strategies for safeguarding PHI and personal information in an evolving threat environment.
- Understand the regulatory considerations associated with the use of AI in health center operations, including applicable federal laws, transparency requirements, and strategies for developing internal AI governance policies.
- Assess the legal and compliance risks arising from recent federal executive orders and policy shifts including the practical impact on community health centers that receive federal funding.
- Develop practical, organization-level risk mitigation strategies across each compliance area addressed in the presentation, including approaches to policy development, staff training, documentation, and response procedures for government investigations or enforcement actions.
- Learn how to conduct thorough risk assessments of clinical practice and prepare risk assessment reports in alignment with HRSA expectations
- Understand the FTCA site visit process and prepare for potential review or audit by FTCA representatives.
