We are excited to invite you to the Injectable HIV Therapies: A Practical Guide for Health Center Providers and Staff webinar hosted by the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers on June 5th from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. This informative session will feature Dr. Kevin Ard, Medical Director of the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center at The Fenway Institute and the Director of the Sexual Health Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital.

During this webinar, participants will:

  • Learn the mechanism of action of long-acting injectable antiretroviral medications used for HIV treatment and prevention.
  • Discuss the patient populations who may benefit most from long-acting injectable HIV therapy.
  • Understand the administration protocols for injectable HIV medications, including injection sites, frequency, and follow-up.
  • Review potential barriers to implementation (e.g., adherence, access, cost, and stigma) and discuss strategies to overcome them.

This is a great opportunity for health center staff and administrators to gain a deeper understanding of options available to enhance care for individuals living with HIV in Massachusetts.
