We are excited to invite you to the Addressing Unconscious Bias in HIV/AIDS Care: Strategies for Medical and Dental Providers webinar hosted by the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers on June 10th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This informative session will feature Dr. Kevin Ard, Medical Director of the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center at The Fenway Institute and the Director of the Sexual Health Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Dr. Tyler Sanslow, dental provider at Fenway Health.
During this webinar, participants will:
- Identify common stereotypes and stigmas associated with people living with HIV/AIDS that may contribute to unconscious bias in medical and dental settings.
- Recognize the impact of unconscious bias on health outcomes, treatment adherence, and patient trust among HIV/AIDS patients.
- Discuss evidence-based strategies to mitigate unconscious bias, such as reflective practice, inclusive communication techniques, and cultural humility.
This is a great opportunity for health center staff and administrators to gain a deeper understanding of options available to enhance care for individuals living with HIV in Massachusetts.
